MLB: Joe Osborne’s Plus-Money Baseball Picks (7.4.2017)

Welcome to the 4th of July edition of
plus money pics. Let’s start things off in Atlanta where I needed to double,
triple, quadruple and quintuple check that the Astros were available at +110 on the -1.5 runline. Indeed they are and they will
indeed be my first plus money pick. Braves rookie Sean Newcombe has had a
decent start to his career but he’s in for a rude awakening tonight versus
baseball’s best offense. The Stroh’s are leaving the Bigs with 6.61
runs per game on the road and their starter tonight Brad Peacock has allowed
just one run in three consecutive starts. Astros all the way in this one. Next up
we hit the Mile High City and may God have mercy on the soul of Homer Bailey
and his 27 ERA so far this season, yes it’s a small sample size as he’s only
started in two games, but I’m showing him no mercy at all and I’m taking the
Rockies at +115 on the -1.5 runline. Colorado will counter
with Kyle Freeland and the Reds have been awful versus lefty starters winning
just 4 of 18 games. Combine all this with the Reds having a league low 12
wins on the road and we have a recipe for a great plus money pick. We’ll wrap
things up in the Lone Star State and take media darling David Price and the
Red Sox at +115 over the Rangers. Texas might appear to have the edge in
tonight’s pitching matchup with Yu Darvish starting but a closer look
reveals that this is not the case. The Rangers have lost six of Darvish’s last
seven starts and his ERA at home is a run and a half more than on the road.
These teams are also going in much different directions with the Red Sox
currently riding a five game win streak where they’ve outscored their opponents 42
to 14 while the Rangers have lost six of eight. That’s it for this edition of
Plus Money Picks. Good luck with your bets tonight and as always keep chasing that paper.
